Flick Scripts Workshops are always as lively as they are enlightening. Come prepared to participate. Come prepared to work, play, and learn. Come prepared to think outside the box. (Don't worry, we know CPR.)
Artist-In-Residence
and Consultant
Julie SaintAnne recently conducted a one-day seminar on Script Analysis
at UNLV Film for the "Working In Film and TV" Class. The 35
students learned the value of "coverage" for the studio, the reader,
and the writer, how to get work using their skills analyzing
scripts, how to write coverage, and how to build their careers from
there. They categorized popular movies into genres, developed
loglines, and held a story meeting to determine whether Flik Chik
Pictures would purchase a hot property up for bid. (It got a thumbs
down.)
They
left with a second script to cover, so they can hone their skills
and develop sample coverage for landing that first job. Their
assignment is to send their coverage to Julie for comments and
suggestions for improvement -- because the seminar isn't over when
the bell rings! They also received 75 pages of sample coverage,
notes, and marketing material to help them land work as a script
analyst. We're always looking for talent here at Flick Scripts...
